Giving to the Reserve

Dear Friends of Sedgwick Reserve:

I hope that you have enjoyed the ongoing Sedgwick online news bulletins. Our growing circle of friends have reported that they appreciate this "greening" of our outreach as much as they've enjoyed the photos, news, event reminders and updates about the many activities that have filled our calendars over the past year.

I too, have come to appreciate these electronic newsletters. They provide welcome platforms to share the magic of this phenomenal place through words and pictures, videos and other contributions from the myriad researchers, docents, students and others who share a kindred spirit for Sedgwick.

This year I'd like to employ this same monthly newsletter to ask for your support of our annual campaign. A great number of you give of yourselves in a variety of essential ways - donating your time, expertise, enthusiasm, participation, and willingness to learn new things and contribute to new projects. This year’s new phenology project is a good example. Our efforts to monitor native plants has gotten off to a wonderful start thanks to the enthusiastic participation of many. Thanks to your contributions of time, talent and treasure over the last decade, Sedgwick has become a thriving, multi-faceted outdoor classroom.

Giifts of financial support for Sedgwick over the last several years have been very important to our day-to-day operations and have funded wonderful contributions like the new audio-visual system in the Tipton House from which we are all benefitting. I hope that you will consider making a gift now, online. A contribution in any amount will make a difference and you can do it today simply by clicking here. It's green, economical, easy and important!

Please be in touch with me if you have questions. There are many other opportunities to support this amazing Reserve, and if you would like to learn more, I'd be happy to have you visit.

Here again is the link where you can make an on-line contribution. And keep your eyes out for future bulletins announcing community oak restoration volunteer opportunities!

With warm regards and thanks for your consideration,

Kate McCurdy
Manager, Sedgwick Reserve

P.S. If you wish instead to send a check to support our efforts, we welcome you to do so. Please make it payable to UC Regents and mail to UCSB Sedgwick Reserve, 3566 Brinkerhoff Road, Santa Ynez, CA 93460. A small portion of all gifts will provide essential support to UCSB's overall operations.
