Volunteering at Sedgwick

Volunteers at Sedgwick

Volunteers bring their enthusiasm to Sedgwick and make so much of what happens here possible! After training with experts in everything from Sedgwick history to plant and animal ecology to geology, docents work with school children in education programs, lead public hikes and community workshops, and help with work projects on the Reserve.  Most significantly, docents bring their own knowledge, talents, and interests to the Reserve.
The Reserve is open to the public on a managed access basis only. Volunteering provides a unique opportunity to enjoy Sedgwick year round. To join us, email the Sedgwick office at sedgwick@nrs.ucsb.edu or call 686-1941.  Please note that volunteers must complete an application and docents who work with children must complete a background check and submit to fingerprinting.
